I’ve been seeing articles on the new WSOP (World Series of Poker) application for Facebook that allows players to play against read opponents, send chips as gifts and eventually will allow players to win a virtual gold bracelet. So I wondered - is there a video poker application for Facebook? Certainly it would be simpler to build than a poker application.
Well, I found a video poker application on Facebook. Of course, you aren’t playing for real money. Which is good because when I went to switch games, the game moved my bet from $10 not real dollars per coin to $1000 not real dollars per coin and wiped out my $1000 balance in one deal. Now, if I were playing for virtual chips at an online casino, I could just go to the cashier and pick up some more chips. But at Facebook the name of the game is to make you force friends to join in whatever game you play, so the application is suggesting I ask friends to send me chips. I can also take surveys to earn chips or buy chips. Yes, the wonderful twist to “it’s not real gambling” on Facebook. If I play at a real online casino, I buy chips with real money. And when I win, I win real money. On Facebook, I can buy virtual chips with ream money and when I win, I get back virtual chips. I can’t win real money. If I want to play for free, I can go to Bodog and play for free without having to share information with all my friends.
So, I’ve discovered that I can play video poker on Facebook but can’t find any reason to put up with the general annoyance of Facebook to do so.
