Bonus Poker is basically a variation of Jacks or Better video poker with a higher than normal payout for a four of a kind. There are multiple versions of Bonus Poker, with different "bonus" payouts for different types of four of a kinds. Bonus Poker does not generally include any wild cards.
Some variations of Bonus Poker include:
- 8/5 Bonus Poker
- Double Bonus Poker
- Double Double Bonus Poker
Payback percentages on Bonus Poker video poker games range from 99.17% for the 8/5 Bonus Poker version to 100.17% on the full pay version of Double Bonus. Those payout percentages assume strategically perfect play and appropriate pay tables. Since pay tables can vary from casino to casino, indeed, from machine to machine, and most people don't play with perfect strategy, these games are still very profitable for the casinos.
Strategy for all Bonus Poker games is relatively easy to learn if you know how to play Jacks or Better well, since the basics are more or less the same.
