Pickem Poker - Pick'em Poker Video PokerPick'em Poker is a newer and more unusual variety of video poker, at least compared to the more traditional games of Jacks or Better and Deuces Wild. You can usually find Pickem Poker on the multi-game machines in casinos, the ones where you determine which game you're going to play by touching a screen and choosing. What's interesting about the game is that it has more in common with stud poker than draw poker, and it has a potentially tremendous payout percentage - 99.95% if played with perfect strategy. Pick em Poker GameplayInstead of receiving five cards like you would normally receive in most other video poker games, you receive eight cards. Two of the cards are face up on the left, and then there are two stacks of three cards each on the right. The top card of the two right-handed stacks are up, so you can see a total of four cards after the deal. You have no option to throw away the two cards on the left. Those cards are yours to keep until the end of the hand. You do get to pick which of the two stacks of cards on the right you want to keep though. When you select which stack you want to keep, the two cards dealt underneath the face up card are exposed, and your hand is made from the two cards on the left plus the three cards in the stack you kept. So basically, in Pick'em Poker, you're choosing one of two three card hands every round. And since a pair of nines or better wins, not only is the strategy pretty easy, but the game offers lots of potential wins and lower volatility than with most other video poker games. Lower volatility means less bankroll required and fewer losing streaks. Why Play Pickem Poker? In fact, this is one of the best bets in the casino, especially if you're a member of a slots club with a decent rebate plan. Suppose you get 0.3% cash back on your slots club card; that would make your payout percentage on this game, including the cash back, 100.25%. Nothing like tilting the odds in your favor once in a while. I'll write further articles explaining Pickem Poker strategy and include Pick'em Poker pay tables in the near future.
